OPlease enjoy the slideshows below for each week of camp and if you haven't already done so, please complete our Camp Evaluation. We need your feedback to make the camp even better for summer 2017!
July 11-15: ¡Preparados, listos, ya!
Week One of camp was all about fun and games as our theme was the Olympics. We invented, constructed and played our own version of Olympic Games at Camp Madrid. From races with bottlecaps to to target shooting with homemade bean bags, we were super active all week. The kids really got into our camp theme song this week Madre Tierra and knew most of the words and the dance by the end of the week. One really fun activity was when each student digitally created a camp mascot and we voted on our favorite to use on our camp t-shirt. Our last day ended with a water balloon fight and some silly party games after lunch which you can see in the photos below.
July 18-22: Con las manos en la masa
Week Two was all about food. The kids made a snake and a hedgehog out of fruit, a monkey out of cookies and icing, plus homemade pizza, water ice and we topped the culinary week off with a trip to Scrumptious, the local fro-yo shop. There were so many great activities carried out by each class besides the cooking from table setting, to conducting experiments with food, to customizing their own aprons. We also really enjoyed our time at the Delaware Art Museum on Thursday morning in their galleries, fantastic kids' room and on their lovely grounds. Due to popular demand, we brought back our water games for Friday morning and this time we came fully loaded with not just a wagon full of balloons but one very loaded down car filled with extra water for extra fun. No one escaped in dry clothing this time. After a trip to Scrumptious in the afternoon, we got back with just enough time to give lots of hugs and well wishes to our campers as we said goodbye. Thank you for letting us be a part of your summer.
